Melinda Mitchell is a certified veterinary assistant and member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, and is insured.
Melinda talks about her qualifications:
I've loved animals all my life and have always done pet sitting for my friends and co-workers. A few years ago, I decided to devote all of my time to the care and well-being of animals.
First, I attended Austin Community College to become a certified veterinary assistant. I completed my internship at Austin Humane Society, so as to work with as many animals as possible.
After that, I went to work for Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary and at Austin Canine Central. When the director of Thundering Paws needs to go out of town, I stay there where I'm responsible for 80-100 animals, mostly cats. At Austin Canine Central, I work in doggie day care where I supervise about 18 dogs each day. How lucky I am to have jobs where I get loved all the time!
